Bongongo is a newfound group comprising Pete Longhurst (percussion/electronics), Maisie Niven (bass/effects/saxophone), Harry Birch (bass) and Callum Mintzis (synthesiser). Their approach to music making might be analogised to a crew of sailors stumbling upon an abandoned vessel - they must learn the ways of the ship itself, their roles in sailing it, and ultimately, decide on their voyage. Like in sailing, conditions might change on any given day – but it is ultimately the challenge of the crew to understand their roles and come together in the common pursuit, of finding treasure.
