Impermanence - 8:30pm Impermanence are Bianca Gannon (piano/Indonesian gamelan), Josh Holt (double bass) and Elliott Hughes (trumpet & electronics), who explore the spaces between the ancient and the modern, tradition and invention, and composition and improvisation. Their unique combination of instruments conjures a stunning sonic world, melding traditional Balinese timbres with classical European textures. Since forming in 2017, they have now performed at Fortyfive Downstairs, MONA (Hobart), Tilde New Music Festival, & Lebowskis. Listen to some of their music here!
Czarektrio - 9:30pm From Sydney, Czarektrio create long form improvisations grounded in groove and deep textures. The group features Nicholas Mielczarek (guitar), Chloe Kim (drums) and Harry Birch (bass). Their pieces slowly unravel to reveal dense builds that showcase minimalism with a rock sensibility
