Uncomfortable Beats & Blendcorp team up to welcome Frenquency and Dov1 back to our shores with an uptempo bass event down at Bar 303 in Northcote. The night is set to be a non-stop rave with some of our favourite locals added to the mix. You can expect to hear the sounds of Jungle, DnB, Footwork, Halftime and more.

FRENQUENCY [NL]
(Black Marble Collective / Saturate Records / Basserk)

As a youngster living in the Netherlands Frenquency had an insatiable appetite for all kinds of music and over the many years since he channelled this energy into production, perfecting his craft. This has has seen him release a myriad of electronic styles, both club focused and beyond. His music is strongly influenced by a blend of Bass Music, Juke, Footwork, Ghettohouse, Tropical, Jungle, Beats and Hiphop. His live sets pay homage to all of these, with a strong emphasis on the dancefloor.

In the last couple of years he has upped his output, releasing 6 Eps, the most recent of which is the My World EP on LA based Black Marble and the Greyscale EP on Hamburg based label Saturate Records. Frenquency really started to gain serious momentum and get a name for himself in 2013, when he released three EPs through the Amsterdam based Basserk Recordings. During this time he dropped a number of big tracks and remixes and also toured around the world, across; Jakarta, Tokyo, Melbourne, Berlin, London, Hamburg, Krakow, Verona, Copenhagen, Antwerp and Amsterdam.

DOV1 [USA]
(Muti Music / Producer Dojo)

Dov1 has often been comfortable to be working in the shadows, but his influence filters our through the music on his labels. As a producer his sounds are rooted in heavy bass and a blending digital and organic textures. He does not have restrictions of one type of Bass music, due to the fact he has journeyed through many incarnations of Bass music as the genres arise, often pioneering the genres on his label, Muti Music. In his role as founder & owner of Muti Music, and the other labels he has / does play roles in; Medicine, Producer Dojo, Cyberset, Earthdance, EyePhunk and Fuel Records, he has helped define the sounds coming out of the US west coast, often serving a as bridge for cross continental influences and collaborations to happen.

His Clipping Pathsí compilations series has served as a launch pad for emerging sounds, the original compilation led to a groundbreaking evolution in west coast bass music sound. Dov1 has rocked dance floors alongside many luminaries of Dance culture including Diplo, Bassnectar, Opiuo, ill.Gates, Gaslamp Killer, Excision, Eprom, Tipper, Freq Nasty, Zeds Dead, TRUTH, Clozee to name a few. His diversity has also allowed him to hold it down in unusual situations like opening for Ferry Corsten, Boy George or Shpongle and even playing alongside and jamming with Shafqat Ali Khan.

RAPTORHANDZ
(Samsara Beats / Internetghetto / Uncomfortable Beats)

RaptorHandz is a new breed of hybridized bass-centric dance floor rhythms from the prodigal brainchild of beats producer Able8. With multiple releases on labels like Internetghetto (Russia), Samsara Beats (USA) to name a few, his sound contorts various styles of bass-music sub genres such as footwork, grime, jungle and dubstep into a cohesive package.

Recently, Raptorhandz has been gaining esteem in international underground scenes, crafting heavy-hitting high profile UK grime collaborations, plus producing an EP for the Hi Trax project. It is safe to say that you can also expect a slew of energetic remixes, DJ mixes, co-productions and a high caliber solo release later this year, as RaptorHandz is set to make waves.

TAMEN [IRL/BCN]
(Repertoire / Subtle Audio / Junglistic)

Tamen is a Barcelona based artist relocated to Melbourne who has been bringing his energetic Dj sets to cities such as Auckland, Berlin, Dublin, Hong Kong, London, Madrid, Paris and Romania as well as leading festivals such as Outlook in Croatia since 2000. He has shared the stage with key artists such as Djrum, Fracture, Hype, Moresounds, Marcus Intalex, Om Unit, Paradox, Seba and Remarc to name but a few.

Tamen’s productions have received support from Sam Binga, Djinn, Mantra and J:Kenzo among many others. He has co-released music on labels such as Repertoire with Ricky Force, Melting Pot and Anticlockwise, and currently has various projects bubbling alongside Melbourne’s Pugilist and others, with releases forthcoming on Subtle Audio and more for 2020. He has also recently launched his own night in Melbourne: Junglistic, bringing over cutting edge Jungle artists such as Djinn, Ricky Force, X-Nation and Coco Bryce later this November on their first Australian tours.
Despite all the above, Tamen’s first love is the art of deejaying and moving a crowd, and with 19 years of experience his versatility in exploring the various flavours of Jungle-D&B is more than evident behind the decks. His selectah skills, tight mixing and crowd interaction squeeze in almost all sub-genres into a session of pure Junglistic fiyah!

SISTYM [New Forms}

With years of club and festival experience behind her, Sistym enjoys educating a crowd with relevant new sounds as well as dusting off classic records. Dark techy rollers, liquid, minimal Drum and Bass, as well as more left-field halftime beats all have a home when it comes to a Sistym DJ set. Finding the perfect amount of impact and emotion within the music to move a dance-floor while staying true to the craft is her main focus when on the job.

CAMPBELL [Blendcorp / Uncomfortable Beats]

Melbourne DJ Bevin Campbell is the host of PBS 106.7FM program The Blend, which this year celebrates 16 years of broadcasting on the station. His love for music and future direction was cemented as a key member of the team behind Red Bull Music Academy in Melbourne. Soon after he set up the Blend Corp label to distribute the material of renowned artist Wax Tailor and others. He helped establish and operate the popular CDR Melbourne producer meetups, which started in London and are now found around the world.

Known for his eclectic taste, his sets vary depending on the night in question; he is not one to be put into any box or category. Bevin comfortably plays hip hop and beats through to electronic, slotting into the requirements of drum’n’bass, jungle, footwork, dubstep, halftime, UK garage and beyond. Residencies past and present include: Howler, Lucky Coq, Workshop, and Black Cat, along with spots at clubs such as Revolver Upstairs, Lounge and Boney. Some recent highlights and supports include The DOT winter edition, Red Bull 1800 Doof, Grumpy's closing party, Pangaea, Ruby My Dear and Djrum shows. Having completed several tours around North America and Europe, he is currently focusing on production.
