8pm: CARBO CARTER GUNNOO began creating music in the Carbo's lounge room in mid 2015. Since then they have been making music together, performing at venues including Uptown Jazz Café, the Toff in Town, Bar 303, the Jazzlab and made their debut at the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues in 2017. Bassist Isaac Gunnoo, drummer Maddison Carter and siblings Flora and Theo Carbo (saxophone and guitar) all compose for the group, expressing each individual's musical interests within their unique ensemble sound.
CCG is due to release its debut album in late 2019.
7pm: HOI POLLOI are zingy art-folk/alt jazz biscuits and relish delivering textural grooves, impressionistic harmony and abstract lyrical narratives straight into your chest. Their eclectic sound has been described as 'a sip of baileys in between a bunch of Melbourne bitters’, and their debut EP is set to be released in September.
