MAS_ (Melbourne Amplified Strings) is a newly formed ensemble celebrating new amplified string music. Created by Xani Kolac (violin) and Anita Quayle (cello), MAS_ presents four concerts per year including collaborations with guest artists with diverse musical backgrounds. The third concert in the 2019 series is DUETS featuring all new original compositions for amplified violin, cello and effects. Utilizing live looping and live manipulation of effects, DUETS is about creating an environment of exchange, harmony and opposition.
