Men Imitating Machines (AUS) take live drums, bass and guitar and turn them on their ear. Jarman Donohue (10100010010110101) and Matty O’Brien (01001101001000011101011) play 100% live electronic sounds built with the foundations of bass heavy beats, huge riffs and infectious electro vibes. The boys use a MIDI bass, MIDI guitar and MIDI drums hooked up to a computer to shape a sound totally on the fly with live visuals. NO CHEATING! This coupled with a gobsmacking light show by Tommy Gunn, wild stage antics, crowd heckling and a dislike of shoes makes them a thing of robotic beauty!
PurpleZain is the one of the Gold Coast’s most prolific underground musicians, songwriter, producer and entertainer. As a solo artist he has produced an incredibly diverse catalogue, including two electro-synth concept albums (Supervision & Supervision II: The Psychopathology of Angelica Deathray), a full length rock opera soundtrack (The Lost Whore Project), and a Korean Pop Music tribute EP (The T-Pop Mini Album).
In 2020 PurpleZain will be on tour with his band utilising synthesizers, sample pads, midi controllers, and vocal effects processors. This is not a DJ/EDM show however, as PurpleZain’s band draw from their classic rock upbringing to throw down an energetic live band experience.

Joining them on the mic for this gig is the legendary MC Luke Luice who spits rhymes like he's out sprinting Usain Bolt. Exploding onto the scene in 2019 this dynamic digital/acoustic ensemble have already built the foundations of a solid fan base and have an EP in the works due for release mid 2020.

Swearing allegiance to the sub sonics & heavy bass as his tactical specialties. MD's split personality wavers been synth-troglodyte, to knob-turning-wannabe-rock-star. For more than 2 decades he has been an sonic trooper, from the 90s European free party squat scene, around the world and back to the modern dancehalls of Australia. He is a keen Vinyl and Eurorack enthusiast, indulging in everything from harsh Glitch n Basscore to sweet sweet Reggae and Dancehall.

Max spends most of his time in a space of darkness, smokey red eyes and strobe lights.
Crooning his way through a quarter life crisis one bottle of red at a time. Max uses lo-fi samples and moaning, creaky synthesis to create a hot mess of rhythmic looping.
