“…epitomises good taste and swing” The Australian
Hammond organ soul-jazz is the speciality of the Jake Mason Trio, quickly becoming one of Australia’s favourite jazz acts. Their show at The Count’s will see the trio perform tracks from their ARIA Jazz Album of the Year nominated record “Stranger in the Mirror” as well as brand new compositions.
The Jake Mason Trio features Danny Fischer (drums), James Sherlock (guitar) and Jake Mason (Hammond Organ). With influences from the golden era of organ trios (Smith, McDuff, and McGriff) and music from today’s melting pot, the trio weave their way through familiar sounds with a modern twist.
Jake Mason is a multi-instrumentalist and prolific songwriter who has released twelve albums and established his own label and production house. The award-winning musician, songwriter, producer and touring artist made his triumphant solo debut with full length album “The Stranger in the Mirror”, receiving rave reviews worldwide.
Nominated for ARIA song of the year, he co-wrote and co-produced the Kungs Vs Cookin’ On 3 Burners chart topper “This Girl”, hitting the #1 spot in 10 countries and reaching the Top 10 in 37 territories. An accomplished live performer, he has worked with artists such as Richard Clapton, Kylie Auldist, Clare Bowditch and Hugh Jackman, and has co-written with Kate Ceberano, Eric McCusker and Tania Doko to name a few.
