Baillie's Bazaar for Unwanted Oddities is the brainchild of Liam Baillie, a Naarm-based composer and simpleton. Combining his love of storytelling with every musical influence he can get his grubby little hands on, Liam creates a unique and wild musical landscape that invites comparison to no one. With the addition of banter that is at once confusing, comical, and wholesome this will be an experience you can’t pass on - except for something serious like the end of the world, or a flash mob.
Liam will be accompanied by Coby Barnard (saxophone), Aidan Marinelli (drums), and Xiao Xiao (cello). They are his musical family, and he is blessed.
Gaia Scarf has spent the last few years in the centre of several sound scapes. Starting out young as a Folk singer in the lush Blue Mountains, then melting into the heat of Melbourne’s Nu-Soul and Jazz scene, she has woven multiple threads of influence into the tapestry of her sound: a genre hot-pot of Folk, Soul + Indie. As a soloist, Gaia is dedicated to vulnerability, using story-telling and melody as an outlet for personal revelation. Soulful vocals, atmospheric electric guitar and the occasional mossy textures of her nylon string. Gaia is transparent as she sings on identity, love, family, death and her personal human experience.
