Rory Tiganis-Hannan:
Rory Tiganis-Hannan is a Melbourne based drummer and composer. His dynamic, energetic and explosive sound behind the kit is electrifying; leading to performances at prestigious venues and festivals throughout the country. Rory will be joined by an immensely talented band consisting of Thomas Colemanbell (sax), Patrick Barton Grace (keys), Aidan Efron (bass/synth bass), and perhaps even a special guest.
Their performance will feature tasteful and distinctive tunes written by Rory and his friends; delving into the captivating new sounds of jazz which draw inspiration from genres such as soul/ neo-soul, hip hop, funk, fusion, and electronic music. Their music has been influenced by artists such as Yussef Kamaal, Nate Smith and Chris Dave, amongst many others.
With a keen interest in improvisation and various forms of fusion music, expect to hear a range of influences and to witness the deep pocket grooves and unique interaction of the band! They will be joined by a very special guest, one of the most prolific voices in Australian music right now, the Jake Amy Trio.
Jake Amy Trio:
Jake Amy is one of Australia’s most in-demand keyboardists and has performed with an ever-expanding array of exciting Australian and international artists such as Grammy nominated artist Ambrose Akinmusire, ARIA Music Award winner Kaiit, gold-selling artist Wafia and South Sudan’s “King of Music” Gordon Koang. Originally born and raised in the regional town of Wonthaggi, Jake has gone on to tour extensively around the world, perform in stadiums to over 30,000 people and on television, most recently appearing on the broadcasted State Memorial Service for Dame Olivia Newton-John AC DBE alongside Bumpy.
Jake’s live shows and releases including their debut album “Doom” have been taking Australian and international music scenes by a storm. This has seen them support internationally renowned artists such as Thundercat, Cory Henry, Sampa The Great, Hiatus Kaiyote, Paul Kelly, Joy Crookes and Odette.
