Callum Mintzis presents: Sleepless Nights at Bar 303 TONIGHT (Wednesday 5 March 2025) from 7.30 PM.

"Sleepless Nights" is a newly established band playing improvised expansive music. With an unconventional lineup of musicians from a diverse set of backgrounds, this band seeks to incorporate elements from classical, Jazz, electronic, film, african/srilankan, folk and experimental music in an improvised setting.

These musicians have each created their own wonderful solo projects and are now coming together to add their unique experience and singular devotion to intelligent and emotionally open storytelling in an electric and exciting improvised setting. Combined these musicians have played and recorded with some of Australia's finest musicians on some of Australia's finest stages.

With an emphasis on narrative based story telling, the group experiments with complex rhythmic groupings, diverse and unique tonal variety as well as stretching the confines of standard jazz and classical harmonies, playing with harmonic polyphony influenced by the likes of George Russell, Maria Schnieder, Andrea Keller and Igor stravinsky.
