Guitarist John Scofield's 1997 album A Go Go is a modern classic. His chemistry with the paradoxically tight-and-loose rhythm section Medeski Martin and Wood is palpable, and would be the first of many albums the quartet would make together. A Go Go is one of the only modern jazz albums to yield new standards that are still played at jam sessions to this day -- including Hottentot, Chank, Green Tea, and the title track.
