LUME is a monthly residency at Bar 303 that features some of the most exciting emerging female and gender diverse musicians in Australian music scene.

SET 1 - 8pm - Saffi Campbell Walker

Brought up in Acheron, Victoria, Saffi Campbell Walker is a 20-year-old jazz pianist and composer who draws inspiration from her experiences growing up in the bush to create improvised music that nurtures storytelling and rhythmic, childlike playing. With her early experiences of music being classically focused, Saffi’s music often experiments with incorporating improvisation into her highly notated works for solo piano and trio, as well as larger ensemble works. Her band consists of Jerush Perera on drums - who inspired and co-wrote some of these pieces - and Lily Appelt on bass.

SET 2 - 9pm - Ruby Glynn

Ruby Glynn is a jazz & contemporary vocalist, who draws on influences such as Joni Mitchell, Norma Winstone and Carmen McRae with a voice that is unique yet timeless, dynamic and intuitively musical. Ruby was one of six national finalists in the 2023 and 2024 Generations in Jazz Vocal Scholarships. She has performed to sold-out audiences at venues such as the Paris Cat Jazz Club, Lido Jazz Room and Classic Southside with the Will Jones Big Band and the Little Bourke Big Band as well her own group.  Ruby has played and recorded with artists such as Shannon Barnett and Paul Grabowksy and is a regular guest with the Pearly Shells Swing Orchestra.
