Agvamil are an intense, contemporary groove/fusion trio based in Melbourne. Their complex melodies and infectious grooves carry their original music and take audiences on an emotional journey from comedic and unserious to melancholic and raw. Only being formed earlier this year, they have a strong connection and are constantly improvising their set to tell a different story each time. With an inspiration from many genres and walks of life, their unique sound comes from a focus on emotional exploration through music and a traditional trio instrumentation.
Nepenthes are a jazz-punk collective pushing the boundaries of sonic fusion. Driven by the human condition, the group build mosaics of time, colour and poetry to highlight topics of love, oppression, and the natural world. Whilst the project has only been active for a short period of time, the group are gaining a cult following, working with reputable acts in the Melbourne scene such as Harriet Wraith, Banksia, West End Gap, Sundown on Eden and Finn Fair, and are eager to bring their unique sound to eclectic events and audiences.
Jude quintet is a five piece contemporary jazz group commonly found occupying the front stage of Bar Open. They pull together an eclectic love for genres ranging from hard bop, DnB, UK jazz and MPB. Often featuring guest artists, the band comes in all shapes and sizes, yet are singleminded in their mission to get heads bopping and booties shaking.
